Just because it’s winter doesn’t mean Nantucket is off limits as a vacation spot! In fact, during the holiday season, our quaint little town comes alive with Christmas traditions and spirit. We’ve rounded up just 5 reasons to spend a time away in Nantucket this December.

The Stunning Festival of Trees – This event is a highly anticipated one for locals and visitors alike in Nantucket. Every December, the Nantucket Whaling Museum transforms into a stunning and sparkling winter wonderland for the Festival of Trees. It continues all month long and features more than 80 Christmas trees, each one decorated by a local business or organizations. And these aren’t your average trees that you’d see at Grandma’s house! Each one intricately decorated with a unique a theme – a beautiful display of craftsmanship and creativity!

Holiday Gift Shopping – Nantucket boasts a collection of some of the finest shops and galleries all in one great location. You’ll find specialty items including artworks, antiques, fine linens, quality apparel, one-of-a-kind jewelry, and pottery to name just a few! Much of what you will find is made on the island giving it an aesthetic that can only come from Nantucket. Just spend the day meandering through the town’s decked-out streets and stop and shop to your heart’s content. You may even find some businesses passing out delicious snacks and treats. Christmas Stroll Weekend – The popular Christmas Stroll weekend will be taking place December 6-8, 2019. We are mostly booked but we do still have some rooms available for a Sunday stay so don’t miss the many events that will going on that day! Some of the festivities happening on the 8th include:
