One of the reasons we love this blog is the fact that we can share with our guests – old and new – friends, and family the amazing places to check out when visiting with us. There are some amazing new places opening this spring so we are going to do a two-part series to tell you about them! We love to support our community and for guests new to the area, these restaurants are places where you will feel at home and be treated like family.

First up is Keeper’s Restaurant, located on Amelia Drive and founded by Nantucket natives Sabrina Dawson and Gaven Norton. Slated to open this month, Keeper’s is sure to become a staple place to visit. Norton and Dawson wanted to open a place that was open year-round and that offered visitors a comfortable and casual atmosphere in which to dine. With a philosophy that “great food and fun times are meant to be shared,” they will be offering at Pair & Share dining option where you can customize your meal by pairing menu selections together and sharing with family-style plating options.

Next is the highly anticipated Afterhouse Wine & Raw Bar, which will be opening to the public late April. This is a sister restaurant to Galley Beach and will no doubt become a hot spot in the area in no time. With menu choices including shellfish, raw fish preparations, caviars, tinned seafood, vegetarian offerings and charcuterie selections, there will be something delicious to please every palate. Amazing food with and island-feel atmosphere will make this place one to check out with your friends and family this spring.

Last but not least is Sandbar at the Jetties, which is slated to open mid May at 4 Bathing Beach Road. The passion behind this restaurant belongs to Nick Nassington and George Kelly—two Nantucket natives with many years in the restaurant and bartending world. They wanted to provide a casual, family friendly atmosphere and serve out of this world New England beach fare. There will also be a raw bar and live music daily and we’ve been told there will be some family style clambakes. This is sure to be a hopping place this summer.
